Supporting
families
when it matters most.
Free counselling and peer support for families raising children and adults with special needs — no referral, no cost, no waitlist.

"No family should navigate the special needs system alone."
Families shouldn't have to fight to access support that should already be there.
— Cordelia Aiwize, Founder

In Depth
What each program looks like

Free Counselling
Families raising children with special needs carry an invisible weight. Our counsellors are trained in trauma-informed care, family systems, and the specific pressures of the caregiver experience. Sessions are one-on-one, confidential, and always free.
- No referral required
- Telehealth or in-person
- Ongoing — not just a one-off session

Peer Support Groups
Isolation is one of the biggest challenges for caregivers. Our peer circles meet monthly — a space to share honestly, hear from families who genuinely understand, and build lasting connections with people who are on the same road.
- Evening and morning sessions
- Facilitated — not a drop-in
- Max 8 participants per group
- Childcare available on request

Intake Navigation
BC's service system is complex, underfunded, and often overwhelming. We've navigated it ourselves. We'll sit with you, map what your family needs, and help you pursue every pathway — from school referrals to disability funding to waitlists.
- Service mapping session
- Referral letters drafted
- Follow-up check-ins
- Advocacy support
Our Founder
What started as informal support for one family in her community grew, quietly, into a network. Cordelia has navigated BC's service system herself as a caregiver. She knows where the gaps are. Steady Path Society exists to fill them.
Since 2014, Cordelia has supported hundreds of families across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley — through IEPs, disability funding applications, peer connection, and crisis navigation.
